Remembering Joseph Howard Rambin III: A Legacy of Leadership and Compassion

HOUSTON, TX – August 30, 2024 – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, Joseph Howard Rambin III, a visionary and co-founder of Moody Rambin. Howard passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loved ones.

In 1969, Howard co-founded Moody Rambin Interests with Dan Moody, Jr. What began as a patio home development business evolved into a comprehensive real estate firm, encompassing office buildings, brokerage, property management, and investments. During his nearly 50+ year tenure at Moody Rambin, Howard considered his greatest accomplishment to be helping others kickstart their careers and having a lasting effect on their success.  To recognize his impact on the commercial real estate landscape and influence on others in the business, he was honored with the prestigious Houston Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

Howard’s passion for giving back to his community was evident in his founding of Keep Houston Beautiful, now the city’s leading organization in beautification, litter reduction and recycling education. His efforts for the city were recognized by Houston Mayor Lee Brown, who dedicated November 13, 2003, as J. Howard Rambin III Day.

Despite facing health challenges over the years, Howard remained a beacon of strength and resilience. His commitment to personal coaching and volunteering within the community reflected his deep desire to give back and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Howard’s legacy is one of entrepreneurship, mentorship, resilience, and love. He was instrumental in our company’s success and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Howard’s dedication and passion laid the foundation for Moody Rambin, and his influence will continue to shape our organization and the industry.

As we honor Howard’s incredible legacy, our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. His leadership and compassion will be deeply missed.
